Texas, Our Texas

We have celebrated Texas for several days now starting the Friday before we went to the State Fair. We made Texas pancakes.

Listened to the song, "The Eyes of Texas", performed by the UT band; and made The Eyes of Texas on a cutout of Texas in our little School Barn. Henry and Eli loved doing that!

We also looked for the skunk under the building (that wasn't there) Let me tell you THAT story... I had run back into the house to get something for Ethan the other day, while Henry and Eli were outside.  They came running up to the house - "Abi, Abi! There is a skunk under the building!"
"Really?" I ask, "Did you see the skunk?"
Eli, "Well Henry said there was one."
"So, did you smell the skunk?" I asked.
"Yes, it smells like a skunk," both boys assured me.

Well, needless to say there wasn't a skunk - but they sure had me cautiously looking! And you see Henry, here, checking it out.
