Road Trip

Well last Friday arrived with very little rain, so we met Henry in Gilmer and headed to the pumpkin patch in Pittsburg. Our first stop was Bealls, hoping to find some matching colorful t-shirts for pictures - we found no shirts, but trucks were on sale - that was much preferred by three little boys! Before the store opened we posed for some "cool cousins" pictures. (As you'll later see - this was the last of the posing!) The boys ran up and down in front of the store for several minutes and just about the time we started to buckle up and leave, the store opened, so with lots of promises that everyone would settle down and stay right by Abi - we entered the store...

Then on to Pittsburg, where the pumpkin patch was too muddy and the only thing interesting was the old truck loaded with hay - the boys enjoyed playing around the pumpkins for sale just as much - but alas, no posing was even remotely possible. Too many little feet carrying little boys into too much trouble! I did snap a few.

The only way I could get them to sit long enough for a picture was to suggest making silly faces.

I think Henry thought this giant pumpkin would make a good road for his new truck.

The boys picked out a pumpkin each and Henry chose an ear of Indian corn and we were on our way to eat pizza at the "tractor pizza place."

After enjoying the tractors at the tractor place for a while, Henry spotted some "Harmony Eagles!!!". Well, I didn't break the news to the boys - they were really buzzards circling.
The boys were excellent at Pizza Inn, our favorite pizza place since it is by the tractor place - and they actually ate some pizza! We had a fun road trip - even if it didn't turn out exactly as planned!

Ava, you did a great job of capturing those kids. I know from my own grandkids they are hard to get anything because they are usually moving so fast. Looks like it was a real fun day. Makes me miss mine. I have two girls and a boy all under 6 years. There mom and dad live in Conway, Arkansas.
